How do I install and commission a Molecule gateway?

Installing and commissioning a Molecule gateway typically takes less than 30 minutes. Here's the process: (1) Mount the gateway - install the gateway enclosure near the battery or inverter (indoor or outdoor-rated enclosures available). (2) Connect to devices - wire the gateway to your battery/inverter via Modbus RTU (RS-485), Modbus TCP (Ethernet), or connect via API/OCPP (for cloud-connected devices). (3) Provision via cloud - log into the Molecule dashboard, add the gateway by serial number, assign it to a site, and configure device protocols using drag-and-drop. No custom code required for standard protocols. (4) Run commissioning test - the dashboard sends a test dispatch signal (e.g., "charge at 2 kW for 5 minutes"), verifies the device responds correctly, and checks telemetry accuracy. Once the test passes, the gateway is live and ready for dispatch. For devices with proprietary protocols, you can upload custom Lua scripts via our Optimization SDK. Installation guides, wiring diagrams, and protocol documentation are available in our developer portal. Need hands-on support?
